It is Trump and his supporters who are acting like "losers" trying to steal the election

In Phoenix, Trump supporters--some carrying rifles and handguns in plain sight, were shouting “Stop the Steal.” In Detroit, Trump supporters were storming vote counting centers, chanting “stop the count.” They were doing the same thing in Philadelphia, and in Atlanta. In Grand Rapids, Michigan election officials and police had to prevent hundreds more Republican “observers” from entering a vote counting center that was already packed with “observers” harassing ballot counters. Even Trump carnival barker Rudy Giuliani got into the act, holding court on a street corner in Philadelphia shouting “This is a concerted effort of the crooks that run the Democratic party. You know these big-city machines are crooked"; he would "know," of course--he was the mayor of New York. Here are some of those Trump supporters who think that their votes count more than others:

Trump supporters were also claiming “fraud” at the Clark County Election Department in North Las Vegas, where a few counter-protesters were exposing who pro-Trump protesters everywhere really are: “Losers Trying To Steal Election”; one identifying as a “Lincolnvoter” held a sign reading “Protect Democracy Not Your Party”; “Democracy” was highlighted in blue, while “Party” was in red.

We saw this coming, after months of Trump and his minions claiming that “fraud” was afoot. We saw it efforts in states with Republican-controlled legislatures or governors passing laws to restrict voting. We saw it in the actions of the Republican-controlled USPS; despite the “assurances” of Louis DeJoy, there was widespread evidence even just a week before the election that the promised halting and reversing of changes that were slowing down mail delivery had not been done. It was also revealed that Trump intended to claim “victory” soon after the polls closed to make it easier to sow dissent among his supporters before vote counts from Democratic-leaning urban precincts began biting into his leads in swing states.

The divisiveness and division that Trump has sown created red meat for supporters with claims that “This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election. We’ll be going to the U.S. Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop.” By the time Trump made this assertion Wednesday morning, the voting actually had long since stopped, just not the counting. It is just like a crazed dictator to believe he has the authority to stop all vote counting simply on his “command,” like King Canute commanding the tide from reaching the shore--except that Canute was actually making the point that he had no such power.

Despite the best efforts of DeJoy, the flood of history could not be denied. CNBC reported that USPS “failed to deliver a significant percentage of mail-in ballots to several states that could determine who wins the presidential contest between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden,” including all the states save Alaska that are still currently in play. One photo out there shows stacks of trays holding hundreds of undelivered ballots each in a USPS distribution center in Provo, Utah.

But there were just too many mail-in ballots for such thievery to make a significant dent in the will of the people who chose to vote that way. Trump intends to file suit to invalidate ballots received three days after the election in Pennsylvania--one of the states that DeJoy is accused of deliberately causing delay in ballot deliveries.  Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan, whose orders DeJoy has been ignoring, stated his intention to haul DeJoy into court to testify under oath to explain himself.

Meanwhile, Trump is filing lawsuits everywhere to stop vote counting, and calling for “investigations” into swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan where he has already been defeated. In Philadelphia, where Trump was losing by an 80-19 margin, the Trump campaign filed a last minute suit to stop the count until more of its “observers” were present to harass and intimidate vote counters; the judge who heard the complaint denied the petition. Still, former Wisconsin governor Scott Walker was one of the few Republicans who said that at least in Wisconsin, Trump’s attempt to “swing” the result was a fool’s errand.

And that wasn’t all. The Department of Justice sent out emails to select vote counting stations warning them that they may be “visited” by armed federal agents “investigating federal crimes at closed polling places or at other locations where votes are being counted.” This was clearly an attempt to threaten and intimidate vote counters, although the sending of the email may have only been done to appease Trump and prove William Barr’s “loyalty” by at least doing something desperate to stop the tide.

Today Trump made his first personal appearance since announcing his “victory,” claiming that he would have easily won the election if only “legal” votes were counted, and made the bizarre claim that only in states he was trailing in should be allowed to continue to have vote counting to keep his votes from being “stolen”--while in states where his lead was being whittled away the vote counting should stop because votes against him were votes being “stolen” from him. Former Republican senator Rick Santorum observed on CNN that

I sat there I listened to him talking about the votes being taken away from him, and then he shifted to Arizona and said hey, I win this thing if they count the votes.' Well, how can you say we have to wait and count the votes in Arizona and I can win this thing, but if you count the votes in Philadelphia you’re stealing them? The reality is, in Pennsylvania Democrats voted by mail and Republicans voted in person and it’s because you asked them to do so.”

In the end, it is Trump and his supporters who are the ones acting like “losers” trying to steal the election. The fraudster Trump is being being eaten by his own fraud.
