Melania doesn't really want to take all the "credit" for Rose Garden debacle, does she?

I don’t have anything personal against Melania Trump, although anyone who would marry someone with as many hideous personality defects as Donald Trump must be suspect. What could possibly have motivated her to visit an immigrant “detention center” a few years back, especially wearing that “I Really Don’t Care” jacket? Naturally she went to one of the “Potemkin Village” facilities, not one where the children resided in cages, which is why her press conference after her visit was somewhat offensive for its lack of “concern” for what her husband and his goons were doing, given the reality of what was really happening to most of the children in ICE and border camps. Melania’s speech at the RNC might not have been according to script, but if she wanted to make a counterpoint to the mostly inhumane and indecent rhetoric heard elsewhere, she shouldn’t have spoken at all--and allowed the rumors that were floating about that she was refusing to give the speech that Trump’s aides were trying to force on her to be her “statement.”

Unfortunately, Melania--after almost four years of being mostly invisible--decided to leave her “mark” on the White House at this very late date, and one that does not to do her much credit. Earlier this summer she decided, or perhaps her husband urged her to take “credit” for his decision, to “remodel” the Rose Garden. The reason why one might suspect it was actually Trump’s decision was because he intended on using the Rose Garden as a launch pad for campaign rallying, and in order to do so the third-generation crab apple trees that had been first planted by Jackie Kennedy were all removed, as were all of the colorful rose bushes, to make way for an open space for Trump campaign events. Here is what the Rose Garden looked like before:

Here is what it looks like now after the "renovation":

And why it was cleared out for “personal” use:

The Rose Garden now looks like an empty space with no colors to brighten it up, with just white and pink roses barely visible on the peripheries. According to the New York Times it was Melania who wanted “electrical upgrades for television appearances, a new walkway, and new flowers and shrubs.” Again, why at this late date? There is a very good chance Trump will not be reelected. And why would someone who is so media shy care about “electrical upgrades” and “television appearances”? I mean, it doesn't do Melania any credit if she herself decided to do this for just this one speech. Wouldn’t it make more “sense” if it was someone who didn’t really care about how the Rose Garden looked, but someone who just wanted to find the most convenient space to clear up for personal political reasons?

There are those who have come to the “defense” of Melania, claiming that the Rose Garden has frequently seen trees and rose bushes replaced, but what they leave out is that for nearly 60 years the basic  “look” of the garden has remained the same, and now it just looks like an empty lot, which is, of course, what Trump himself wanted. Reports now reveal drainage has become a problem, and that fake turf had to be used during Trump’s RNC staged events there, exposing the hurried lack of planning that went into creating this shameful monstrosity. And shame on Melania for taking “credit” for it.
