Thom Hartmann says we live in a “post-racial” world. Really? Well, these people didn't get the "message"

A bleach-blond California woman recently fired from her job says she was just offering a harmless “opinion” that she wouldn’t mind seeing Barack Obama assassinated. And don’t call her a “racist.” For those of you who live in a fantasy world, like so-called “Number One Progressive” Thom Hartmann, such comments are not just from the “fringes” of society; many are from allegedly “open-minded,” “tolerant” young people. Take the collection of tweets gathered by the website Jezebel, which caters to women interested in stories about “Celebrity, Sex, and Fashion”—the majority of which were written by white females. The format in which the material was posted prevented copy-and-paste, so I had to type out all of this trash; for those offended by the fact that I spelled-out the racial slur, these bona fide bigots shouldn’t benefit from wishy-washy niceties—and is a reminder to Aryan-Nordic “progressives” like Hartmann that we really don’t live in a “post-racial” world after all:

Ok we pick a worthless nigger over a full blooded American what the hell has our world come its called the white house for a reason. This could have been written by master bigot Pat Buchanan, but I doubt he dresses in drag and puts on make-up. What is a “full blooded American” anyways? If you want to get technical about it, Euro-Americans didn’t quite kill-off all of those “red” and “brown” skinned people who occupied this land long before they did.

There’s a fine line between a respected African American and a nigger. Just saying. Uh, so what in your opinion is a “respected” African-American? Clarence Thomas? Steppin Fetchit? Al Jolson in black face? Only in this country can a Harvard-educated black man be considered not worthy of respect. 

Obama only won because he’s black. Romney would have been a much better president as he actually has moral unlike nigger Obama.  Why is it that we can’t just say that some people believe that the values that Obama embodies—civil rights, economic justice, corporate responsibility—are more moral than, say, discrimination, the widening of the gap between the rich and everyone else, and corporate irresponsibility? 

No NIGGER should lead this country. And no one who says such moronic things should lead this country—at least not before they get back on their medication.

When in doubt kick the nigger out. How clever. Give this person a job writing “jokes” for former Seinfeld star Michael Richards’ stand-up routine. The principal of the school this tweeter attends is black, and when contacted, he said “I know this student very well and that is not who he is. He made a terrible mistake.” That begs the question: Maybe you don’t know him as well as you think?

Niggers are voting #Obama2012 cause they afraid #RomneyRyan2012 is gonna create jobs. That is what we should have been afraid of if he was elected and returned to the Bush era policies of corporate irresponsibility and greed.

I really just can’t stand that monkey in office any longer. Maybe he’d like Obama better if he was living in his house? This is a student attending a high school in Georgia; the school’s “mission statement" claims that “We view learning as a partnership shared equally among students, parents and faculty.  Working together we believe that every student regardless of innate ability, race, creed, ethnicity or national origin is capable of making measurable improvement each school year.” Did I detect a subtle hint of institutional racism here? By golly, I think I did. 

I’d honestly be willing to spill blood and attack the north and Take back America. Civil war 2012. I hear that many residents in the Old South are signing petitions for their states to secede from the Union. But it is just like a gun-loving bigot to want to use the bloody way to “solve” his “problem.” You know what, though? Maybe the “north” is more representative of what America stands for—and is willing to fight for it as well.

Minorities are not “tearing” this country apart; they are only “tearing apart” the white racist’s idea of what America is—that is to say, a “white” country. Obviously a black president is inimical to that idea.

If a president who is black isn’t even accorded a modicum of respect by a disquieting number of citizens in this country—but rather “inspires” such hatred as we have seen, what does that say about their attitude toward minorities of “lesser” status? And it isn’t just about blacks; I have already mentioned that in Washington’s allegedly “blue” King County, any story in the Seattle Times relating to Latinos and immigrants “inspires” the most grotesque hate-mongering in the comments section of newspaper’s website. Even “progressives” like Hartmann and Ed Schultz have a difficult time stifling their instinctual desire to scapegoat Latinos for many of the country’s problems. And far-right extremists like Buchanan believe that Latinos are “out to destroy America.” 

There is in fact a real possibility that—with the help of an extreme-right U.S. Supreme Court quickly trying to unravel equal opportunity, civil and voting rights for racial minorities—that this country will commit national suicide not just because many people refuse to acknowledge that the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” applies to non-whites, but because some arrogant “progressives” believe that racism is “dead” in this country and choose to ignore it because of their own personal preferences. Sorry, Thom, but from what I can see, if white men in this society are 1A, white women are 1B.
